Tom Donald
Tom Donald was born in the small town of Coonabarabran in New South Wales. Despite having a hearing deficiency which lead to speech difficulties, he developed music as his first language. Tom started playing the piano from the age of five, and began composing music shortly afterwards. Aged ten, Tom moved with his family to Tamworth, known as the Country Music Capital of Australia. There he played his first paid gig, aged fourteen, at Monty’s restaurant in the prestigious five-star Powerhouse Hotel.
By age eighteen, Tom was already an established local composer and concert pianist, and went on to spend the next three years studying a Bachelor of Music degree at Newcastle Conservatorium, Newcastle University, Australia.
In 2010, Tom founded the London Contemporary School of Piano, which has since turned into a worldwide group of musical enthusiasts often disenchanted with traditional teaching methods, who benefit from a fresh and modern approach to their playing.
