Sukey’s Circle! Mini-Shows feature a series of 15, newly recreated ‘mini’ episodes made especially for TV. Available in both English and Spanish, Sukey’s mini-shows are based on the original award winning Sukey’s Circle! Volumes 1 & 2. Sukey models simple, realistic music and movement play options that encourage participation, learning, and thoughtful quiet time while viewing. Sukey’s fun, gently lyrics, rhythmic melodies, and colorful felt animations are easily grasped by young children, and offer that ‘just right’ mix of movement, play, and song. With live action footage, and lovable Sunshine Family friends, Sunny and Tick Tock, children are invited into a safe and trusting atmosphere that’s gently paced, soothing, and intimate, and provides an alternative, ‘active’ viewing experience.
Sukey's Circle!
Sukey Molloy began working with children in 1985 and embarked upon her career as a children’s music performer and recording artist nine years later. Growing up, Sukey studied dance and piano at the Hartford Conservatory of Music. She went on to train and perform as a professional modern dancer in New York City and became a member of the Solomon’s Company Dance, performing and touring with the company in NYC and Florida. Following her dance career, and with children of her own, Sukey went on to study Developmental Movement with former Olympian, Garland O’Quinn, Ph.D., and Infant Development with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. Sukey has designed and taught music and movement programmes in libraries, nursery schools, after-school programmes, and elementary schools, and, in 2005, launched her own, Nyack, NY-based PlayMove&Sing programme of classes and teacher training workshops.
