Reptiles

Come with us to where the reptiles are - and don’t be scared because they mean us no harm. They slither and slide and they hiss and they bite, but we need them and they need us to leave them alone. All they are doing is removing all the pests that damage our food crops - insects and rats and mice among them. If we let them, they’ll protect our plants and save us from things that can make us sick. And did you know that snakes are not the only reptiles in the world? We’ve got camouflaging chameleons that change colour to hide, they’ve got eyes that can turn right around in their heads. You won’t believe your eyes but you’ll see children stroking a really big snake - yes really - with their own hands! You’ll see tortoises that walk on legs and carry their homes on their backs and rocket frogs that shoot up into the sky. We’ve got crocodiles and - what do you know - a tiny bit of dinosaur as well.
