Making Ferrofluid!

This alien looking goop is a suspension of iron filings in oil and in this experiment we make our own Ferrofluid! Messy, fun, and amazing once you put a rare Earth magnet next to it. This experiment allows us to study suspensions but also view magnetic fields in a unique way.
